Almost the end of 2008....

No pictures today, just a bit of reflecting on 2008.
Nancarrow Photography has grown by leaps and bounds, and we are so thrilled and thankful for all of our clients that we have worked with this year.
2009 brings the excitement of more wonderful clients, and new opportunities for our business.
Some new things to look out for:

* Drawings for free sessions and wall portraits
* Updated portfolio galleries on the website
* WEDDINGS!!!!
* Nominate a special person or family to receive a free session complete with prints.
* Senior referral programs
* The BEST baby plans!

As I mentioned yesterday, our promotion for January is a buy one, get one free. Clients can purchase a session and then receive a gift card for an additional session to either give away or use later!

snow day!

One of the oddest things happened while I was on vacation. It started snowing, and it just wouldn't stop!
My husband had to come home early from work before he got snowed in, and while the kids were waiting for him, they played in the snow together:




And then Daddy got home safely and it was time to do some serious playin' in the snow:

Very beautiful, and it lasted quite a few days.

Even though Christmas is over and done for the most part (we still have piles of cardboard and wrapping paper that need to go out to the recycle bins) we still want to give to our clients and future clients.

How many more days?

Time is going by so fast! Last week was the last week for all of my normal Holiday sessions.
This is the last family I did. We did an indoor/outdoor session. Aren't the kids adorable??

Christmas sneak peek!

I had the opportunity to photograph a really cute family this weekend. They were all smiles, and we were done in no time!

I love photographing this little girl! I finally got a few smiles from her.
We did a whole family session as well, and her siblings are just as cute!

At the end of our session, I told them all that they could pose however they felt.
And they did!
Everyone took the session well, and as a result we got some great smiles and expressions...

Modeling

Last week my daughter was chosen to do some modeling of hair accessories. She was very excited!
They arrived and we had a good ol' time changing out backdrops and outfits.

In the past she has only modeled clothing, so this threw us for a bit of a loop!

The designer has approved the photos and is working on getting her website together. Once its up and running, I'll post the link and you'll be able to shop for your own daughters!

Holidays!

Holiday sessions are in full swing! I'm sorry to say that I did get a little behind in proofing this past week, between regular sessions, viewings, and the canned food drive. Thanks to all who participated, the winner will be announced tomorrow!
So during this week I'll be posting various images, in no particular order.

Today I have photos from a twirling session. I must say, they were soooo cute and very willing to pose in front of the camera:





ANd we even got their baby cousin in a few (you'll recognize this QT from a few posts back...)

Goin' riding!

Last week my girls were able to go riding...kind of. They are quite new to horses so this day was strictly for learning how to get ON the horse and stay on without sliding off.
I think they did pretty well!


I loved looking at the horses, and when I was younger I was all about riding them. Now I think I am too fearful!

This week is going to be busy for many who are having Halloween and Harvest celebrations, but I would like to still encourage anyone who would like to come out for the canned food drive on Friday to please do so. Families in the Victor Valley would be so appreciative of your donation!
There are a few sessions left for the Holiday season. Once full sessions are booked up, there will only be mini sessions and indoor sessions available during the week. So don't procrastinate and miss out on getting a time slot for your family!

Fall is here!

This session really put me in the fall mood! One of my favorite families to work with, and Mom is always up for doing new and fun things. So we hauled out some cute pumpkins and fall color, and did some outdoor shots~
And while there aren't too many shots of her smiling, this baby has very expressive eyes - bright, blue and GORGEOUS!!!
I can't wait for the rest of your proofs to be ready!

Just a reminder, our canned food drive is still going to be happening this coming Sunday, October 26th from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Photos are $5 and all proceeds and food will go to needy families in the Victor Valley.

Outdoors!

I just noticed that nothing has been posted in almost 3 weeks....that will be remedied soon with the session that have been taking place lately.
These are from one of my outdoor sessions last week. The leaves around here haven't started changing, and the weather is still nice. We headed out to one of the local park for some fun shots.
These sisters are always on the go! Last year I chased the oldest around, and this year her sister joined her in running as far away from the camera as possible!




For the month of October, we have two promotions running. We have a canned food drive every Sunday evening and on Halloween Day. Have your picture taken on our Autumn-Themed set (complete with hay bales, pumpkins and fall color!) The food and proceeds will be donated to needy families right here in the Victor Valley.
The second is something fun with the kids. Every session done in the month of October, the kids will get a free pumpkin! Mini Sessions are $20 and Full Sessions are $40.
I have a few sessions lined up this week, so stayed connected to check out some of the results!

Fun with Brianna!

Since we can't seem to get the pettiskirt off of her, I asked her to pose for some high key images. I love this look - very clean and crisp looking. I hope to do more of these images this winter, but not until I get a better handle on the technique. Not bad for my first time though!
October is just a few days away, and I have something very special planned for the month! Something to kick off the season of harvest and give a nudge to get people in the giving mood! Check back in a few days and see what is up!
