A note I wanted to put in...

Today I just wanted to say something before I post two new recent sessions...

On July 22nd 2009, Doris Davies passed away. For those of you who live in the High Desert, many of you will know who she is.

Doris Davis was a wonderful woman and philanthropist. She did so much for the city of Victorville and for the children of the High Desert. She was an energetic lady, whose tenacity for getting things done was unmatched.

When I met Ms Davies, I was a coach for one of the city's T-Ball teams. It was 2007 She shook my hand and told me that she appreciated me volunteering, and that I would love it, and want to do it over again.
Ms Davies always had people around her, that magnetic personality I could feel and experience as she shook my hand.

Little did she know, I had already caught the volunteer bug and I have since moved on fully to my local Little League where I served on the board in an interim position while coaching two teams.

The second time I met Ms Davies was in 2008. Our league was desperately in need of funds to pay for expenses, and she made a rather large donation. After the presentation of the check, and after the ceremony was over, it was my turn to seek her out and be one of the many to shake her hand and personally thank her for her generosity.

Doris Davies will be remembered for a long time, and by many people. If you have the ability to make it to her funeral, there will be a service at San Bernardino county fairgrounds at 6pm on Thursday.

How much do you want to bet its standing room only? ;)
